India.... Cricket.... World Cup

Something which bugged me the most in recent past is the Cricket World cup and the Indian team’s premature exit from it. This is the most talked about topic in all the media avatars – papers, tv channels, discussion forums etc. Ofcourse as an Indian Fan, I am also very disappointed that our team didn’t score well in the world cup … But this is sports and not a war which India has lost. The hype given is something which is required for events like “Kargil War”.

What have the cricketers actually done? They did not perform to expectations in their job. Accepted. But are they the only people who do not perform properly? I find almost in every walk of life the attitude of people is the same. Our Big big Politicians who have the fate of our country as their responsibility who do not perform to mark. But we spend so much of our time and attention to the Sachin and Dravid and Ganguly who just have a sports team in their responsibility. What about the servers in hotel who imagine themselves as bosses who decide whether to grant us food in the proper time or not? What about the Government offices where you need to continuously supply money to make work proceed? Teachers who do not realize the importance of their role in shaping the future of the students? Bosses in office who think their reports as their slaves? The list is unending….

Irritating posters are being hung all over the countries for the star players. Let us assume we failed to deliver in a job badly. How will you feel if a similar poster of yours is hung on the street which your family and friends will see… is this not crossing our limits into their personal lives? Let us not make them Gods when they win and treat them as Saathaan when they lose…. They are playing a game and lets enjoy it as it is. If you think they don’t perform well, stop watching Cricket.

Let us spend our time constructively and give a pleasant environment for everyone to live.
